The Heritage, Arts, Science and Tourism Center is proud to announce it’s annual Kentucky Derby Party at the historic McConnell House. The HASTC has been hosting an annual derby party for several consecutive years as an opportunity to offer a great time in one of the oldest standing homes in the greater Tri-State Area. The event also gives the community an opportunity to help the HASTC raise funds for the ongoing restoration of the McConnell House as well as the operating fund used to maintain the gorgeous property.
The annual derby party is scheduled to begin at 4:30pm on Saturday, May 2nd at the historic McConnell House located along side of US 23 sitting adjacent to the intersection of Industrial PKWY and US 23. A donation of $20.00 will get you a ticket to this much anticipated event, a table for 8 will be reserved for a donation of $140.00. The evening will consist of great food including Ky Burgoo, derby pies and sandwiches, the Ky derby broadcast on donated televisions and a derby hat contest that will take place on the sprawling front portico of the McConnell House. For tickets or more information you can contact Bud Matheny, President of the HASTC at 606-585-1585 or via email at [email protected] . Don’t wait to reserve your tickets, they are selling out quickly. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to be a part of Ky tradition in a perfect example of pre-Civil War Era architecture. The HASTC would like to thank everyone who came out to support the 2014 Christmas Open House at McConnell House. The folks that came to tour had a great time and the fine people that volunteered to make it happen are greatly appreciated. Here are some pictures from the wonderful evening.
The HASTC would like to invite you to our annual Christmas Open House. On December 13th from 6pm - 8pm you can come and enjoy a holiday event at one of the oldest standing homes in the greater Tri-State Area. Santa Claus will be there taking his usual gift requests from the children, and there will be some impersonators on site adorned in 19th century dress for a taste of history as well. As always, McConnell House tours are free. All you need to bring is your family and your Christmas spirit! |
